Integration with Social Networks December 24, 2011 No Comments
Hello!
from now on you can use your favourite social network login credentials to enter The MOG.
This way we eliminate the need for you to go through a registration process, thus making your access to the site easier.
Just locate the following icons on your screen:
and click on your favourite social network; easy, isn’t it?
Please let us know what you think about this and/or if you wish some social network to be included.

The MOG is back online! October 2, 2011 No Comments
All,
We weren’t dead; we were just holding our breath ![]()
As you know, this website has been unavailable for a rather long time due to technical reasons mainly.
After some time struggling to repair the server and retrieve the information from the broken hard disk I’m happy to announce that The Mielke Online Genealogy is back online… hopefully for good.
There might be still some minor loose ends which need some polishing. Please contact us if some glitch hits these pages so we can fix it as soon as possible.
I hope you like this new look & feel. If not, please let me know…
Finally, I’d like to remind you all that you can participate in this project whenever you find convenient because it’s free (as in free beer) and everybody is welcome.
Regards,
Martin
Mielke, Milke, Tielke, Zielke… June 27, 2010 No Comments
Hi there!
I’d like to mention that you might find some similar family names like Milke (withouth the middle “e”), Tielke, Zielke …
I don’t know if they all have the same common root (maybe “Milke” does, as this is how it’d sound in Spanish if you don’t pronounce it correctly) but for sure they deserve to be kept in mind just in case some relatives are also using those names instead. On the other hand, that will make the MOG-Project more time-consuming and tedious.
If you happen to know someone using one of the above mentioned family names, please tell them to join us.
Regards,
Martin
Request for help May 9, 2010 No Comments
Hello Everyone.
Martin and I are both working hard to take the information that we currently have and input it the genealogy software. Needless to say this is a very time consuming and daunting task. We are starting out with our own immediate families and will branch out from there.
We currently have a document which lists Mielke’s from Quebec, Chicago, and Prussia dating back to the 1880′s. In order to properly tie everyone together though, we need to know if there are any descendants of these people out there. If you are willing to help us in this monumental task, please use the Contact Us page to send us the names of your ancestors along with the date of birth/death, who the were married to and any children that they may have had.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Steve.
We are all over the planet! :-) April 29, 2010 No Comments
Greetings fellow Mielke!
I’d like to welcome all of you joining us recently.
I can see you’re coming from different parts of this planet: US, Canada, Brasil, Australia, Japan and Europe, of course, just to mention a few… it’s amazing to see Mielkes from so distant places being interested about this site
I strongly encourage you to take a look at the “About” page. It has been extended a bit with some useful information for you if you wish to participate. After all, we need your help to make this come true… so don’t be shy and tell us about you!
Warm regards!

Hello everyone.
My name is Stephen Mielke.
Although I was born and raised in Arnprior, Ontario Canada, I now live in Ottawa.
My dad was born in Ladysmith, QC, but his mother (my grandmother originated from Prussia).
Over the course of the next few weeks I am hoping to be able to post the ancestry that I am aware of in hopes that some of you out there might be able pick up where I left off…so please stay tuned.
